UK Election – climate issues
I was asked by Channel 4 News to create a graphic about the issues the next UK government will face with climate change and the environment, a subject which has barely been debated in the campaign. It was a quick turnaround, so in the spirit of recycling, you may have seen some of these elements before! Reporter Alex Thomson, produced by Louise Turner and Rachel Seifert. Two day project.
Water shortages in the UK
I was asked to make a graphic for a news report on water shortages in the UK. This was the first time I’d worked with Ruben Reuter, a reporter for Channel 4 News, and I hope he liked how it turned out. Feels a bit like a pirate map! One day project. Produced by Rachel Seifert and Louise Turner.

UK hedgerow wildlife in decline
A graphic for a Channel 4 News report into the decline of hedgerows across the UK, and the drastic effect this has had on the biodiversity of the countryside. I tried to create a woodcut style effect to these graphics, to give it an illustrative, rustic feeling. I kept the animations to each element simple as it is a lot to visually digest in a news report!

Disappearing ice
I was asked to produce a map illustrating the effects of climate change on the Gulf of St Lawrence and the Magdalen Islands, off Canada’s east coast. Global warming is having a dramatic effect on Harp seals and other marine life in that area. It was tricky timing the animation to make it look as dramatic as possible but also keep it as accurate as possible. I was asked to create some artwork for a document about the South Pacific islands, Tuvalu, which are under threat from rising sea levels.
Climate change graphics for Channel 4 News
This week I was asked to make some graphics illustrating some statistics about the UK government’s green policies. My producers were Louise Turner & Tilly Cowan, the reporter was Alex Thomson for Channel 4 News. These were draft versions but pretty close to what was broadcast last night.
